Time to say 'Goodbye' to two of my very best !

Helmstedt

After a recent health scare episode I have decided to let two of my helmets go to auction, after all we are only custodians! Should anyone be interested they are with Hawleys Auctioneers in the UK. Coming up on the 1st of June. the lot No's are 1262 for the Jager zu pferde & 1263 for the Officers Guard du Corps. Both helmets are in very nice condition and more images are on the auctioneers site. For medal collectors there is also a nice Austrian Order of the Iron Crown WW1 period.

I looked at both helmets posted on the auction website, they are truly beautiful and well preserved examples of the craftsmanship of the bygone era.
Does the Other Ranks Jager zu Pferde have unit markings behind the Cockaden?
I hope you get a good price for them.
Best regards
John

Hello John, Thankyou for your kind comments. I have just looked behind the cockades for the 1st time ever!!! No markings I am sorry to say. Regards

I looked through the catalog, strange to see your helmets between teaspoons and dinkytoys… even second hand clothes, and cheap looking furniture,
Is this really the best spot to sell your helmets? I would put on a high reserve price and consider putting it for auction in a auction house dedicated to high end military stuff…

Thanks for the response. Great looking JzP nonetheless and would be proud to have it in my collection.
Again Good Luck with the auction.
Best regards
John

I looked at the catalogue too, and I agree.

very nice helmets, who wouldn't want this, but unfortunately through a safe you are faced with unnecessary costs of 30% that no one benefits from, I think there are also enthusiasts here, sorry, had to stand up, sorry for the language
