Unknown guardsman. May be someone can identify regiment? On the back is a large letter that he wrote in Gothic script. I can't read this text either, unfortunately.

Looks like "68" on the shoulder strap. Possibly IR68. Anything on the back?

Yes, it seems to me "68" too. But I think they looks like RIR68 according to their age. There is nothing on the back.
