Hello all! Hope everyone is well!

Well, I finally did it! I displayed my collection, I was able to get a proper shelf for everything and got my helmets and everything else up!

I used to have everything tucked away in boxes and was really nervous to put it out on display, I finally stepped out of my comfort zone and here’s the result!

Was able to hang everything up, I’m planning on getting some mounts for my officer sword so I can hang it on my wall above the book and portrait.

If anyone would like some closer looks, please do say!

Did have one slight mishap, gonna pay for it later 😅

It looks great Dane! A nice way of displaying your collection. For your info, I personally use wineglasses, for my haubes when displaying them, just to keep the front and rear visors off the "ground" so as to keep the stitchings of the visors free of any stress. Wine glasses are not very expensive, and available in different heights. And they don't cost much too! Put them upside down, so the spike supportdisc is carrying the weight of the helmet. Further more, they are almost invisible that way. A little like floating helmets.

I’ve been trying to find some good head mounts, I’m currently using trash bags filled with lots of wrapping paper to hold them up.

I’d much rather have some head mounts for sure.

Just measure the height you need them to be, from the inside down, just so the visors are free from touching the surface you are displaying your helmets on, and you're good to go. Then place those glasses upside down, and you're ready! I have several ones, in different heights here, so every helmet is with the visors free of any damage to the stitching.

Hi Dane, here some pictures of my collection of pickelhaubes on wine glasses. Just to show you how it looks, displaying them that way.
Do not look at the dust, I really need to dust them off more frequently...

Wow! I never thought of using cheap wine glasses for my helmets, I think I’ll steal this idea from you, Coert! 😂

The circular base of wineglasses fit the support disc of pickelhauben perfectly, just measure which size wineglasses will clear the visors from touching the surface you put your helmets on, and your good to go! They're much cheaper than stands which sell for a lot more, so you can use that savings to buy more helmets! A win-win situation! ;) That JzPf M15 needed a larger sized glass, longer because of that rear section.
Besides, wineglasses are clear, so the helmets look like floating on air, which they are not off-course.
 
Using glasses to support and display Pickelhauben is indeed a good way. I've been using different types of glasses for years, as long as they indeed have a large enough circular base (I use mostly Duvel and Ice-tea glasses, if you're familiar with those). But I know someone who used this small "Pompom" shrapnell grenades. They fit most Haubes really well, but are less suitable for private purchase helmets with silk liners.

Thanks for the update Dane. That's already a cabinet filled with helmets. Just in need for some chin straps and Kokarden to complete them. :)

Years ago. My first. Belgian 2nd Lancers Regiment Trooper Tschapka. Parade.
-it came squeezed on a polystyrene halfhead...when I removed it the leather liner was seriously damaged by the chemicals. But ok.

The ones I use are solid rubber type material (PVC) and I have not had any issues. So far.....

Indeed it is! I work with PVC in my regular work, we make fittings for sewer installations, things like Bends, 45 degrees, or 15, 90 degrees, T-pieces and such. When warmed too high, they emit a burning smoke which tells me enough.. Not good for a human to inhale, let alone a helmet which is well over 120 years of age. PVC has substances in it, which are toxic.
