GM17 display

Howdy all, hope you guys are well!

Well I decided to see if I could find a way to display my gm17 and here’s how it came out!



I wasn’t quite sure if it was safe to have the mask out like this, or use bubble wrap to help it keep its shape. I’d love to know what you guys think on using this technique and if it’s safe for the mask.

It's not like you are stressing the leather. And bubble wrap is essentially chemically inert (as far as I know) unlike Styrofoam that let's off gases that can ruin leather.

I do not have a 1917 Ledermaske, however, I have a similar setup with a US CEM Mask and an M1917 Helmet.
I keep the mask's straps from stressing out by propping it up on a 1917 US Infantry manual, and I think it looks quite nice.
(It looks a little akward and squatted in these photos, but thats just because of the angle.)

Dane average price these days is i think is around 350/450 Dollars for a infantery or pioneer mutze , the one with the camoband i paid 40 Deutsch Mark a long time ago on a German fleamarket.

I’ve mainly been looking for a standard m1910 Prussian example with the red band.

Very nice thread. Some great displays guys.
I've never owned a German gas mask because I find them a bit expensive for what they are, but a gasmask with a Stahlhelm does look very bad-ass I must say!

Fantastic stuff - and love the torch group portrait! Is your Württemberg kratzchen marked? Wondering if DR26 or UR20. Beautiful either way.
