Saxon 107.R.

Congratulations on a nice looking helmet,
However imo the regimental marking are scratched-in rather than stamped, which I'm a bit suspicious of.

Lars

Very nice and a great addition to your collection. For me, I don't remember seeing a liner which has been dyed brown before but it is obviously original and looks excellent. There is always something new in the land of pickelhauben!

That's about as good as it gets in Saxon OR's helmets. The shell is in great shape and the Kokarden are pristine.

I have seen both incised and ink stamped markings on Saxon helmets.

Beautiful helmet.

Thanks for your nice comments. :)
I took another look at the regimental markings.
These saxon helmets indeed often have markings which are incised in the leather (see below screenshot I have).

I have an ok feeling about it but I'll stand corrected should anybody see it in another way. :)

Hi,
I agree, but to me it doesn't seem to be stamped, rather that someone scratched the marking into the leather, compare the neat "107.R." stamp shown by Grabenmaxx to the stamp of the helmet in question. Hopefully I'm just seeing it wrong.
Regards,
Lars

I don't question it either, the helmet looks good for me. However, maybe I'll imagine it, but isn’t there a 7 before the marking with 3K and maybe something else even before that marking?
