I now know that, was confused by the post about a Fuss artillerie helmet, which was corrected by Clovis today.. It was indeed the other way around..

That was my error. I made that mistake in my Fussartillerie Find post yesterday. Should have known better the "Fuss" was a clue. :rolleyes:

Don't worry about it Steve. Everybody, just like myself can get it wrong. And you know, even that I'm on this site a long time, I still learn everyday.
It's quite a very interesting hobby of ours, collecting these helmets.

Like the cavalry, rear backbone without ventilation, domed scales.

---A.F. or A. zu Fuß = Fuss-Artillerie or Artillerie zu Fuß (heavy artillery, siege artillery, fortress artillery, then rail-mounted naval artillery) Position artillery. Heavy artillery.
Like the infantry, rear spine with ventilation flap and flat chin strap scales.
