Books about pickelhaube and similia from beginning to pre-Great War

It is quite common to find texts on Pickelhaube relating to the First World War, but it is more difficult to find volumes predating this conflict. Apart from the titles from Verlag Militaria (which also includes a beautiful double volume on the Franco-Prussian War), the works of J. K. Kube, and the various catalogues, including Hermann Historica, I have difficulty finding the perfect book that also examines the less celebrated headgear, such as the Bavarian Landwehr examples or all types of Raupenhelm, and Saxon army, with particular reference to those from the mid-1800s. It is even more difficult to find texts on Russian Pickel [helmets], which I adore since I have one in my collection. If you are interested, I have some well-written articles on the latter. The same thing for Austrian army, For example, about the evolution of the notorious dragoon helmet.

Aside from what I have mentioned, do you have any other reference texts?

For Bavarian Helmets Die Helme der Koeniglich Bayerischen Armee 1806 - 1918 by Walter Siebold and Gerd M, Schulz published way back in 1999 is still my go to book.

If you don't have that one you need to find it, you won't be sorry.

For Bavarian Helmets Die Helme der Koeniglich Bayerischen Armee 1806 - 1918 by Walter Siebold and Gerd M, Schulz published way back in 1999 is still my go to book.

If you don't have that one you need to find it, you won't be sorry.

it is a great book and must have if you like Bavarian stuff like I do. Can be found on Ebay Germany from time to time.

The one and only book unfortunately doesn’t exist. But beside the book John recommended, the book „Die Organisation, Bekleidung, Ausrüstung und Bewaffnung der königlich Bayerischen Armee von 1806-1906“ is also very recommendable. It contains 2 volumes, a text and picture book, and was published in 1906.

I love the Steinach-Verlag books (didn't see them on your shelves) - beautifully executed, IMO. Some of my favorites are below.

Die militärischen Kopfbedeckungen 1869–1919 mit Polizei, Feuerwehr und Steuerwache covers Württemberg headgear.

Their two books on officer helmets are just beautiful:
