Hi is this front Toten TK front plate real? The helmet has no extra holes and everything looks good even the kokade is real deal?

Hello,
The eagle looks authentic, but the TK is a contemporary electroplating.

The front plate has been mounted on the helmet forever, The TK holes are perfect set no doubles its drilled acerate and skull bolts to the plate as it was the only thing mounted.

Not a fan of the skull overlay sorry. Eyes, nasal cavity and other small details are incorrect to originals.

That is a known copy. All you need to do is look closely and you will see all the casting bubbles. Almost no pebbling on the Bandeau. Wrong shape to the skull, wrong everything. Absolute garbage. Wouldn’t pick it up if this was in a ditch. So bad that I need to wash my eyeballs now.

I jumped the gun a bit; indeed, a larger magnification of the TK would have allowed me to definitively detect an "electroplated" reproduction. I'll quickly correct my initial impression.
Thanks, Tony!

A wise man once told me that when it comes to the authentication of IR 92 Helmets the devil is indeed in the details.

I really feel sorry for collectors who find out that their IR 92 Helmet is a reproduction. It's a terrible feeling and can be very hard to except.

Let's face it they are at the top of just about every collector in the Worlds want list.

Sorry for the bad news Gary and welcome to the forum. (y)
