Didier Laine told me once that those officer Tschapkas made of leather parts sewn together were the most fashionable and expensive ones. I have another one and they seem, at least, to resist remarkably well to misshaping, a common issue on those hats.
To be noticed is the plate on which only the reserve cross is silver. This is perfectly normal on a Tschapka, while in the Saxony infantry and other units, both the cross and Saxony arms are in silver colour.
This one has a small defect: a piece of the liner missing at the back of the skull.
