Baden helmet with unique spike securing method

Well done, Amy! Congratulations on this magnificent collection of antique spiked helmets. I really like them, but I only collect those from before the Battle of Sadowa—provided they were used during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870.

Fantastic collection of early helmets Amy. There are one or two that if you ever get bored of they might like a holiday in the cold climate of Canada!

Cheers

Doug

Thank you guys for the compliments. I got into the old haube after longing to have a M1842 haube. I have been looking at Tony Schurr's website and told myself that I need to have that one of these days. Then there was a member who auctioned his M42 on ebay. I bought it and more came along.

I am greedy for compliment and here's the full shelf of the old haubes. I am more looking for a baden arty old haube. The fun is the wait. 20260725_105629.jpg

The last helmet on the bottom shelf to the right is not a German haube. It's a Swedish. Bought it to look at the parts and they have the same parts as of the Germans. Just don't want to tear this Swedish helmet apart so left it as it is for the time being.
