Hand made display case to the rescue

My former display cabinet shown in the first picture would not fit up the stairs of my new place to the room where my collection is. So fortunately, I was in the process of building one for another collection and decided to make that the replacement. My dad had cut up a bunch of wood slabs and stored them in his shed. He hasn’t done much with them for years and I decided to make something out of them. The cabinet isn’t the best looking when it comes to precision, but this being my first time building one, I was really happy how it turned out

I really like the look of the grain and unfinished sides of the wood very rustic. (y)

You also have good taste your collection is a good representation of the war with a little bit of everything.

Thanks for taking the time to show your collection and your project. (y)

A very cool display indeed! As an aside...today we have planed lumber but back at the turn of the century and before, all lumber as rough cut sawn with rough surfaces.

Yeah, that makes sense. I definitely went all in on sanding them down. It brought out some really nice marbling patterns on them. Maybe in the future, I’ll go for a more rustic look
