WOW! Amy has some big time competition now. The nicest display I have ever seen.

Now - those helmets in the drawer need to get out - perhaps they should be sent lend-lease to some of us so they don't suffocate.

My collection is so mini when compared to Doug's jaw dropping collection. My eyes popped out, nose lengthen, jaw dropped and speechless. I need an aesthetic doctor to get my face fixed.

Thank you all for the kind words! It is nice to see that my OCD for display is appreciated. I think it's part of being a collector lol. It is a pleasure to be part of the community (once again!). I blame Tony for pulling me back in....

Better looking than WW2 helmets that's for sure. Reminds me of the black and white photos of those pre WW2 museums with all the helmets and uniforms that were lost, except now we get to see the helmets and uniforms in colour, the Russian helmets are out of this world! Quite the most incredible collection of minty Pickelhaubes. Rob

Thanks Rob, although I do miss my old wall o' helmets! But you are right, each piece of Imperial headgear is a singular work of art with meaning and substance that requires no explanation. The Russian Life Guard helmets are among my favourite and I quite enjoy them. Very fortunate to have the Tzar and the even rarer Tzarina helmets, but finding the cuirass for them has been a challenge, so if you have a spare one kicking around please let me know!

Oh no competition from me, Amy is the Queen while I am one of her royal subjects! I make sure the helmets in the drawers get some of Sanders oxygen supply so they should be ok! Thanks again, if your ever out west look me up!

I’ve just finished eating, so I usually spend a little time on this forum now. I think I ate something that didn't agree with me... Wow, what a beautiful collection! I had to do a double-take—it’s truly impressive. I even put on my good glasses just to be sure, and it looked just as amazing (just kidding, of course). When I really stop to think about it—what have I gotten myself into? Haha. Am I jealous? Yes, but I’ll be honest: it’s healthy jealousy. There must have been quite a lot shipped from Europe to America back then. All in all, I’m glad to see something different from others who share the same hobby—well, hobby? I think it’s more of an addiction. Doug, that is certainly a beautiful collection.

What have we gotten into indeed, I say that every time I get that sideways glance from my better half as a new box is delivered and it is Christmas time again! America? Canada! Like the old tea commercials used to say lol. I would say most of what I have been fortunate to have purchased comes from Europe so I have Fedex on speed dial. Thanks for the compliments, next time in Belgium if I have the time we should have a Chimay, would love to see your beautiful collection sometime!

I must confess that, after seeing the first photographs, I collapsed to the floor, completely overwhelmed by astonishment, and required urgent medical assistance and resuscitation!
Joking aside, yours is undoubtedly a world-class collection, one that clearly reflects an exceptional depth of knowledge, expertise, and passion for the subject. The quality and rarity of the pieces you have shown are truly outstanding.

Thanks for the kind words, although my knowledge and expertise scrapes the head of a pin compared to most here but I am always learning. Amy, I have an office and a small space in the basement where I am allowed to expand my display. You on the other hand have an aircraft hanger for your vast and incredible collection, and I am always excited to see what you show next! I am sure any aesthetic doctor cannot improve on what God gave you so you do not need to worry! Thanks for the compliments, coming from the Queen of Spikes it is a high honour!

James, your collection far surpasses this, and thanks again for sharing it in person with me a few weeks ago, it was a thrill to have been able to see it first hand! Jeff, there is an empty lot beside our house and I honestly suggested to my better half that a guest house next door would be most appropriate, which could also allow me to expand the collection (maybe into cloth caps !?!) but I got the death stare so it ain't happening...maybe if you come up you can convince her that it really is a good idea! Thanks for the compliment Jeff, and I look forward to more photos of your outstanding collection!
