Gentlemen,
Last week, I was able to give this small but very interesting grouping a new :home: in my glas closet \/
This came straight from an old family estate in Hamburg. Cap and Militärpaß are both bearing the same name.
I´am still studying and trying to decipher all the differents places and units in which this hanseatic citizen served between March 1915 and December 1918, both eastern and western front. But I think I have fixed now the whole military background of this guy, not an easy job because of the old german scripture ](*,)
I really never tought before, that a simple hanseatic enlisted men had the privilege (or right) to wear the hanseatic cokade while serving in any other prussian unit or arm.
Any appreciation or period regulations about that point would be very welcome! (Glenn? Joe? I am sure, one of you is owning a scan of this regulation  )
Before I start to share with you, does somebody maybe already have an idea or is able to guess in which "main" unit and arm this guy could have serve? #-o
Philippe
PS: he served in only one arm, but in two different "main" units (first at the eastern front, later at the western front) and in many different "sub-units" of those two "main-units"...
