Everything is brass colored. It seems to be the only color on the helmet.

I wanted to share photos of one of my favorite helmets with you....9th Dragoon Officers helmet. I picked this up from a collector in Minnesota a while back. I don't have the expertise to view these items as critically as you all do, so I welcome any comments (gently, please) about this helmet...

I don't know much about steel helmets and have none in my collection, BUT I like this one a lot. Lots of character to it.
