This Reserve Officer's Tschako, representing Westfälischen Jäger-Bataillon Nr. 7, is my latest find. A fast check of the Ehrenrangliste revealed JB7 had a compliment of fifty Reserve officers in 1914.

The Feldzeichen in the colors of Schaumburg-Lippe, the sole feature distinguishing this Tschako from JBs 3 - 9; 11, which were Preußen.

The name, Michaelsen, is crudely inked (ballpoint) on a paper tag inside the helmet. I do not believe this holds any contemporary significance as no Michaelsen was attached to any of the JBs (according to the Preußen rank lists of 1897, 1900, 1902, 1914, and 1919 honor list).

Charles- that is a wonderful piece, hard enough to find a good condition Officer Shako, but this one is steller!!
