Hello Joe, it looks like the picture you have in the common data base is coming from my helmet.... If you watch on the right side of the picture there are two letters wrote by hand (Br..); on myne in the same position there is the name "Brener". It''s quite strange that two helmets could have...

    Regimental marking

Hello, on a haube I found these two regimental stamps : the first, dated 1904 is from the 69 JR, the second (below on left) is hardly readable, but it looks like 296 RJR . Franco By astense, shot with DMC-LS80 at 2008-08-26

    Mod. 1871-87 ??

Tony, thanks for your help. This kind of chinstrap looks likes another one on a Wuertemberg haube; in this case is clear that there is a sliding metal buckle (type 91) and only one leather loop. On the picture I saw (Wuertemberg) was visible only the right side (leather loop). Thanks again Franco

    Mod. 1871-87 ??

Hello to all, I found on the web a haube that in my opinion is a mod. 1871 (Baden)upgraded to the mod. 1887, wwith the addition of the two hooks for the chinstrap. Even if he is a bit out of shape, the condition are quite good and all the parts are original and untouched. The only component...

    Felt ersatz liner

Hello to all, I found an ersatz felt pickelhauben with cupro alu fittings without liner, and this not so strange. The strange think is that loocking at the inner of the haube there aren't no evidence of existance of a liner, no stich holes on the circumference even looking with a good loop. The...

    Prussian 8th train 1895 model

Hello, just a question about holes: I found an assembled helmet that look like a Pionier (white fittings) with a long (85 mm) screwed spike in silver plated metal and with 4 holes instead of 5. I look on my books but I didn't found anything (picture or description ) about 4 holes; should be a...

    Pickelhaube M15 Baden

Thank you Joe, If the JR come from somewhere around Aachen is really strange that this MGK come from Baden, but I can assure you that the helmet was in the original condition, and the front badge fit perfectly on the marks on the leather. There are no additional holes and the overall conditions...
