Glenn, this is fantastic!!! I only have one example of one in wear in my collection, taken after the war.

    WW1 Regimental flags

Here is a neat one I recently received, showing 1920s Reichswehr troops in Berlin carrying the old colors of the Imperial era.

Infanterie-Leib Regiment Großherzogin (3. Großherzoglich Hessisches) Nr. 117 - Kaiser Shooting Prize

Thank you, Jens, for that extra information! A nice bonus is on the back of each photo, all the men are identified. I will have to search the Verlustlisten to see if any of their names appear.

Infanterie-Leib Regiment Großherzogin (3. Großherzoglich Hessisches) Nr. 117 - Kaiser Shooting Prize

I got in this nice set of photos the other day, all from IR117. Note all the Kaiser Shooting Prizes, which seem to have the date 1913.

    Badisches Leib-Grenadier-Regiment Nr.109

    Goodbye for now,

You are off to do great things, Dane! And with the new income, I am sure your collection will grow exponentially! If you are going active duty, make sure to check out any militaria shops that may be in your area. I had a great one near St Louis that I miss a lot!

    Pollutants, red rot

Red rot is the kiss of death on items... Hate to see it! I always think of a Saxon M1915 Pickelhaube I bought when I lived in St Louis. The outside was gorgeous, but the liner was toast. Crumbly, red, falling to pieces.

    A real Garde-Adler ohne Stern
