    Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand?

a great photo, but I doubt that`s the archduke - he always wore a moustache like the german emperor and in addition, it seems that the general on the photo wears eye-glasses (??)

    Feldmutze: Original or not?

For me also looks good. The VIII. Armeekorps was located in Koblenz, and most of its units were in the "Rhineland" regions (including Cologne). So also the manufacturer in "Coeln" (today Koeln) fits very well Best Thomas

Congratulation ! A nice and rare wartime original Tschapka. As having no detachable mortarboard, it could have been very easily also an officers Ersatz helmet (in the field also wearing chinstraps on M91-.posts). A great find !
