IR88 Nassauisches nr2 haube, enlisted men.

Hi. What do you think of my helmet? When I bought it with other helmets I thought it was a replica, but later I asked for a rating of this helmet on another forum and there it got positive reviews. You can see with the naked eye that the bows are freshly painted, at least the right one. He looks like he's spent most of his life in a closet. It shines like hell because I think someone painted it with clear polish.
Best regards, Paweł.IMG_20240204_131304.jpgIMG_20240204_131328.jpgIMG_20240204_131355.jpgIMG_20240204_131416.jpgIMG_20240204_131538.jpgIMG_20240204_131637.jpgIMG_20240204_131915.jpgIMG_20240204_131947.jpg

Hello,
A superb private purchase helmet. Little worn, it has been very well preserved. Everything is very "fresh". Private purchase can be deduced from several details: no reception mark at the B.A. or at the unit (Regiment). No piercing of the neck cover under the rear spine return vent. Superior quality of the varnish, particularly the chinstrap, which has non-standard leather slides.

Hello specialists
Would you take a look at my emblem? Does it correspond to an original? I hope you can give me a positive signal. Thank you to everyone!!!
Hello,
Good Prussian Landwehr officer's eagle, with good inverted Y attachments. Whether for an active, reserve or Landwehr officer, these eagles with streamers were too few in number to merit a specific stamp.
So either a line officer's eagle, a reserve officer's eagle, or a Landwehr officer's eagle, as shown here, was taken and the appropriate banner or banners were soldered on, since 1899.

I have a 0fficer of the 2nd of Nassau, and a troop in felt. The former normally has the banners attached and soldered to the eagle, and the latter shows a "late" eagle, stamped in the single sheet of brass (eagle and banners).

Note the gilded appearance of the officer's trim and the troop's felt eagle. However, the other "troop" fittings are not gilded and have oxidised to a chocolate colour.

Excellent pair !

I was interested, but followed the advice and comments about the helmet here, so didn't proceed any further.

Hopefully, if it was somebody from this site, they'll post photos of the back of the plate. That was my big concern. Not that I could bid on it. ;)

Ron
