It must have something to do with the rank/function/status of the wearer. Even a post-war helmet (do these even exist?) would have enameled/painted white behind the Suum Cuique motto and the center eagle. Johan

I think that is definitely a WW2 Finnish helmet, pictures of these apperad in the wartime magazine SIGNAL. Seller is Latvian, not impossible it comes from the Baltics. Johan
