Artful use of out-of-focus close-up photographs. I hope the seller can sleep at night. Scoundrel.

Thanks for that. Guess I need to just experiment some more with the lighting set-up in my garden shed then Adler as essentially I am using the same technique.Oh for some decent natural light!

    M89/97 Tschapka Ulanen-Regt. 15, sparkling...

Wonderful set: and great photos as well. Let us into the secret of your photos; what is your photographic set up? Having moved from Turkey back to the UK I must admit that I am struggling to get the same quality of photos I did before the move. Could be something to do with a lack adequate...

    Bavarian General's Kugelhelm?

Sorry an additional question/observation ...even if such a combination existed wouldn't the wappen and fittings be silver? I thought gold was just for ADC's and Medical Generals?

    Bavarian General's Kugelhelm?

Is such a combination credible? Given Bavaria's late adoption of the kugel did Bavarian Artillery Generals adopt the kugel or did they retain the spike? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250386270314&mfe=sidebar Never seen this combination before so genuinely surprised.

    Wurttemberg ?

Those photographic angles are contrived to obscure those details that separate an original from a repro. Not one for me.

    This is not right....

Shame on you....and such a pristine piece too :)

    Poor fellow....

I think the seller is absolutely correct; either that or it is a parts special. The parts that give specific cause for concern would be: (i) Incorrect mount for the spike: for Wurttemburg I think it should be a cruciform base (ii) Incorrect pearl-ring to the base of the spike (iii) The spike...

    Hessen IR 115

Have you see this on the Weitze site ? Hessen großer Nachlaß aus dem Besitz des Leutnant d. Res. Karl Bäumlein, im Leibgarde-Infanterie-Regt. Nr. 115, Leib-Kompanie weitere Art.-Nr.94469. I think this is brilliant. If offered as a stand-alone helmet we would all probably turn it down as a...
