I could not resist, I bid on it because it is kinda cool, and it would make a great lamp for the colections room.

Good luck Gus. I actually think this is sort of cool. Obviously I wouldn't want to see a helmet transformed today, but back when these things were common I could see it making for an interesting lamp.

The question is what will you use for a lamp shade? I'd almost suggest you try to get a simple lamp shade and have it covered with some period looking print of the regiment. I wonder how you could transfer something like that to a shade?
