    Gent's, your opinions please?

The seller clearly states that this is a parts/composite/restored helmet. I thought that the helmet shell looked good.... but then I saw that there are no additional holes for the service spike. Someone is going to spend over a thousand Euro and end up with zip. Bill

    Quite a Repro

I think that this is the same dealer that we questioned on the old Forum. I e-mailed him asking how collectors could tell the difference between his plates and an original. I posted his response unfortunately we have lost that reply. If my memory serves me he said that it was the newness of the...

    Take That, Mr. X!

Chas, Ok you have answered all of my questions and I agree with your answers except for the cruciform base. All cruciform bases have a crimped edge (where the spike base meets the leather shell) with the exception of Hessen spike bases. To my knowledge it is the only helmet that has this...

    Take That, Mr. X!

Hi Chas, A few items struck me as odd: 1) The Brandenburg helmets that I have seen use the chicken on a stick. 2) The solder on the back of the plates were applied with a soldering iron. Yours appears to have beeen applied with a blow torch.... ie overkill. 3)...

    M15 Mystery

Hi Chas, Is the helmet shell leather? To my eyes the material looks too perfect for leather. Could it be some other material? Bill
  18. Kaiser Bill

    Two Bavarians.

Ok Tony the helmet was made for a ball top and is a rare helmet IF the helmet plate is origional to the helmet. I would sure check under the plate to be sure that the impression in the shell matches the plate. Bill
