I just took a good look at the Baden helmet. The bandeau says: Mit Gott, f Fuerst, und Vaterland." It also has an unpierced crown on top of the griffin. I don't know if this is the place to say it or not, but all th einfo/comments/ suggestions have been veery helpful. This is now my...

    Garde Pioneer Helmet

Can't remember where I even got this one. I know it is PRUSSIAN, it is for a RESERVE, it is for an OFFICER, it is INFANTRY. If there are any other clues about this helmet (regiment, whatever) please clue me in.

The letter stamp seems to be: "K.A.R." Any idea what this means? The other stamp seems to be a date which ends in a 5, but due to only partial stamping the other numbers are illegible.

    Foot Artillery Prussian Helmet

Yes, I have Randy's book and use it all the time. What a great resource. I have Vol 2 as well, plus other helmet books. The frustration is with me and what I am afraid may be seen as trivial questions on subjects you guys already know the answers to. I really hate to bother you with this...

    Foot Artillery Prussian Helmet

Thank you for the info. Please do not get frustrated with me, but the differences that I see on the chinscales is so minor that you'd almost have to get up close and squint to see the difference between rounded and straight. I really have a lot to learn.

    Foot Artillery Prussian Helmet

I have a foot artillery Prussian officers helmet. The only reason I know it is Foot Artillery is because Randy Trawnik described it as such. As a newbie, I don't know how to tell a regular artillery helmet from a foot artillery helmet. They both have the kugel on top. How can you tell one...

I think I still need help on posting photos. I pulled up Imageshack on the web. Looks like I need to register and pay an $8/mo fee, right? Is this the first step, or is there a site that lets me do this stuff for free? I am anxious to post photos and I want to learn this system. Thanks.
