    M95 Conversion to M15

Another good conversion/repair example. I have seen those thin leather reinforcements stitched on other helmets as well.

    A of K site

A of K are way out of my league but I have known Randy for 40+ years and always enjoy talking with him at the SOS. He is a true gentleman and a great addition to our hobby. He has helped me find parts etc on many occasions. Yea....tough to beat Amy, she has no problem keeping up with the boys...

    M95 Conversion to M15

Thanks Steve...I had it in my mind to ask Ron to make a post with photos of his Grenadier as well. I have shown a wartime conversion in my post here which was done with care. I would expect a peacetime adjustment to be similar.

    M95 Conversion to M15

New collectors: At most SOS shows, I come back with at least one helmet that needs work for a customer. In this, case a simple rear visor restitch on a Prussian M15. However, this one provides us with an example of how a brass M95 helmet was converted to the less visible M15 configuration. A...

Württemberg nickel enlisted men Pickelhaube plate.

To clarify: the plates shown by Clovis are for the tin pickelhauben and nothing else. Your picture shows a leather helmet with grommet holes for the typical plate with soldered loops on the back.

Me again, with another eBay find, currently very cheap, is this Haube authentic?

One other detail...the liner with square tongues is the older (1842-1880) style private purchase used before the ribbed silk was introduced in 1880.
