Hi everybody,

I’m looking for a Württemberg pickelhaube plate witch central attachment hook. Does anybody have one of these for sale?

Thanks in advance

Absolutely!!!
Weissenburger was a manufacturer of tin-tipped helmets based in Stuttgart-Cannstatt, Württemberg. He built a completely original helmet (in 3 crimped parts, special tip with false rivet, fixing of the front plate by a single horizontal bridge-tunel in the centre, etc.). The chinstrap and roundels were also special, and the headpiece was set into the crimping bead.
Von der Heyden in Berlin, built the same helmet under licence (because patent registered by Weissenburger) but instead of having the Württemberg plate, with the Prussian eagle of the line.

That's why I've asked you to clarify whether this is indeed the plaque, to avoid any misunderstanding.

I've never seen anything like it. You'd need a full-face photo to get a better idea. Is there a regimental marking inside?
As the fittings are in nickel silver, the faceplate must be identical.

To clarify: the plates shown by Clovis are for the tin pickelhauben and nothing else. Your picture shows a leather helmet with grommet holes for the typical plate with soldered loops on the back.

I think it's a translation problem. So if I understand correctly you're looking for a front plate with 2 bridges, which should correspond to the 2 front eyelets.

The question remains: why a Württemberg plate?

Yes, a TRANSLATION PROBLEM. To all members: Please be aware that this is an international forum with members speaking many different languages from all over the world. Consequently, many comments made here are going through translation programs and they do screw up! So just keep this in mind and do not over react when confusion happens.

Because the helmet still has the imprint of a Württemberg plate. :)

Logical!!! So the eyelets correspond to the positioning of the fasteners on the Württemberg plate. However, as the fittings are made of nickel silver, the plate must be made of the same material, i.e. a ‘silver’ colour. (PB13, GR119, or 123), which complicates the search, as it is rare.
Good luck to you.
