Congratulations Dane, you are a great. A fantastic initiative with not only educational but also emotional values.
It is the true essence of collecting, spreading a passion for history and historical objects.
Bravo again.
Zeb
I would never ever and never buy this one. Too many alarm bells ring and the construction is too crude, with materials too different from the usual.
I don't like at all.
Zeb
Sure, your are right. The colors' matching is fashinating.
Dunkelblau body with Hellblau band and white piping make this headgear a masterpiece of style.
Trust me, Zeb's word!
Another good example. All the ones I have in my collection are exactly like the ones Amy and Brian showed.
But about the example with the crossed swords? Is it a one piece badge?
I have the same suspicion as you Philippe.

You are right dear Steve, but you should know that the metal chin strap only has an aesthetic function. The real chin strap is made of leather and similarly to tropical helmets it was fixed inside to two metal hooks
And now an very old friend of mine. It was on of the first austrian piece I have added in my collection many years ago.
Here is a M 1902 austrian feldgendarmerie. The body is realized in pressed cork covered with khaki striped canvas.
The metal chinstraps is in a one piece.
