For sure in don‘t laughing you out Alan... my first thougt was also it is paint.. but this Pickelhaube was „forgotten“ in an old stable.... so it male sense... should i try to clean it with a small amount of water? Or any other tips?

i tried it.. but it is very strong fittet... so i´m afraid of breaking something.. I think it´s removable... but i don´t wanna try it...

If it is a bullet hole, je was a lucky guy indeed... then it must be a „long range shot“.. Otherwise the bullet would gone through the Spike i think
