I collect all kinds of Imperial German cavalry memorabilia to include pickelhaubes, unit marked Lugers, sabers, carbines, lance, saddle with all associated leather, steins, smoking pipes, etc.

I don't think that challenging the intelligence of all forum members is very intelligent in itself, but then what does a dummy like me know.

Thanks for the additional photos of the cavalry saber. It is what I thought it was--Nice.

The straight saber appears to be a cavalry quill-back combat weapon (that is if that is a rivet through the handle--there should be two). If it is, there might be a unit mark on the basket hilt. More photos please.

I know that I am ignorant and I am about to prove it. What is their fascination with rabbits? I know that they are tasty but that doesn't appear to be the driver.
