@ Sandy.. I think it is his little brother... both Grandpas fought in WW 1... for this he seems too young...
@ aicusv.. unfortunately not... but i will search.. maybe i will find something.... i think it was Infanterieregiment 91 Oldenburg.. but i am not sure
This is my Grandpa Gustav.. He fought in WW1 with the Infanterieregiment Nr 16 "Freiherr von Sparr".. In 1914 he was heavily wounded in France (shot in the face).. nearly one year he was in the hospital.. and.... after that he was in duty again!.. wounded second time at Verdun and after that he changed from the Infanterie to Minenwerfer... I own his Militärpass and his decorations.. but unortunately this is the only photo from this time i own from him..
Wow, shot in the face sounds real bad :-?
But it‘s cool that you got these memorials of your Grandpa. Hold them in honor.
I was investigating in my ancestry too and unfortunately didn’t find personell stuff. Only one pic which shows my 3x great-Grandpa with 2 Medals. It seems he served in IR 91, at least he wore a Medal of the „Oldenburger Veteranenverein“. Also I don‘t have the original one, I bought one and it is now hanging on the wall beside the picture of „Friedrich Wilhelm Heinemann (1826-1903)
