    Imperial Medals of JustinG

Greetings, I thought I would share. My First: A Beautiful PLM circa 1960's made by Steinhauer and Lück. I am very happy to have an example of this medal as wartime versions can easily fetch over € 20,000.

    U-BOAT GUN SIGHT

I believe this is for a torpedo launcher (hence the UBTS u. TBTS. (unterseeboots und Torpedoboots). Looks like this could be removed as the feet have a Slide (resembles a tounge and groove) This is just my observations. This device would be able to be detached or attached if needed IMHO...

    K.M. Officer's Cap

I just want you to be aware. Much of his headgear is highly suspicious. There is a Niobe Tellermutze that has strings with a very likely bogus Warehouse stamp. Much of this persons inventory is bad or put together to part collectors into getting some genuine items, like the Mützenband and the...

    K.M. Officer's Cap

I don't have good feelings about this cap. The Insignia is very thick. The Interior sweatband liner and the "newness" look has me also suspicious. These are just my observations. Best Regards JustinG

Any fellow members here who enjoy a good Bier ?

No offense, but a comment like that makes me think you are a novice beer drinker Khukri. (😆😆) Ha ha ha. Every hour is potentially Beer O'Clock. 😉 Prost/Cheers/Silánte/Santé to all. JustinG

    Kaiserliche Marine Tellermütze-S.M.Y. Hohenzollern

You can also note that the script style is similar to those persons who were passengers on the HAPAG or KDF. Here is a Dampfer ship with the same style of script. These could be purchased onboard by the civilian passengers as a commemorative piece for their journey. Notice the style of...

    Kaiserliche Marine Tellermütze-S.M.Y. Hohenzollern

So there are memorial tallies, tallies for sailors who were served as Reservisten Mützenband. These are my obtained Mützenband from my collection. And then there were "Sweetheart" Mützenband which could be purchased in ships canteens. Here is a photo of an example. Notice the white...

    Mützenbänder of Imperial Times

The book on post 15 is an incredible book and well worth it if you have a passion for imperial tallies stretching back to 1815 through the first World War. There are several great examples and some great descriptions and some examples of the regulations, orders and creation and naming of the...

    Kaiserliche Marine Tellermütze-S.M.Y. Hohenzollern

It is interesting as I would assume this kind of tally would be silk screened and not constructed by the looming process that the official and souvenir tallies/Mützenband. Pure speculation piece in my humble opinion. I would love to see more photos. Thanks for sharing. JustinG

Any fellow members here who enjoy a good Bier ?

I was in Lancaster County in Gordonville when I went to HACC as a younger man post Military. Unfortunately, I didn't know about this Beerhall. Although retrospectively, I would have been a much poorer college student had I known. Those are great beers at an incredible price. Cheers. Best...

    The Jensen collection

Postcards are a great way to start collecting. I would suggest looking into Mützenband collecting as well. It makes a nice piece of memorabilia to go with the ship postcards. The cost for several of these are not too expensive. Congratulations on your collection and enjoy the hobby. Best...

    Mützenbänder of Imperial Times

The naval side tends to be overlooked by a number of collectors. This area is quite fascinating to me. I love the naval side of the conflicts. Germany might have been grossly outnumbered in its fleet compared to the Royal Navy and other Allied navies; but the history is incredible. The...

    Mützenbänder of Imperial Times

There were only eleven u-boats were part of this flottille. This tally is very rare, especially in this condition. Best Regards, JustinG
