Hello All.

I found this cap on eBay, I have zero intentions of buying it, and am just interested in how original it is.
I'd like to know your thoughts.

Imperial German Navy Kaiserliche Marine officer's cap | eBay

Dark Blue wool cap with ersatz visor, and chin strap, black silk lining, leather sweatband. Officer's badge in gold galloon embroidery on mohair band. Gilt buttons.

I don't have good feelings about this cap. The Insignia is very thick. The Interior sweatband liner and the "newness" look has me also suspicious.
These are just my observations.

I bought one once of ebay it was spot on but the strap was wrong and it had been made from an old US Police cap!

Thank you for the Comments, and yes, this person's eBay store is actually somewhat impressive with the pieces he has, provided they are real.

I just want you to be aware. Much of his headgear is highly suspicious. There is a Niobe Tellermutze that has strings with a very likely bogus Warehouse stamp. Much of this persons inventory is bad or put together to part collectors into getting some genuine items, like the Mützenband and the Cockade, but the hat being rubbish. RUN AWAY!

I've always been suspicious of this person's store, and I have even seen issues with some items. However I thought I would get an opinion better than mine. I have never had any intentions of buying things from his store, and this was merely an interest of mine.
