Evacuation Ambulance Company #8 in World War One

Having just had the privilege of reading Gus and Maggie's book I can happily report that it is a fantastic insight into day to day life during the latter stages of the Great War from the perspective of the guys from Evacuation Ambulance Company No8 . I am an idiot...

I recently did a deal with Sjt.Fury and I would like to say that Joe was a pleasure to deal with and once we concluded the deal the helmet was packed and posted quickly and efficiently. No issues encountered what so ever and when the helmet arrived it was well packaged and exactly as described...

    Massive Gallipoli Diorama

Here are a few images, all these are full scale exhibits, all we managed before the camera went flat. Sorry the image quality is not the best but you get the idea and I couldn't figure out how to resize them on my wife's lap top...I'm somewhat of a technophobe at times. The link below is a...

    Massive Gallipoli Diorama

Dropped in on this exhibit in the old Dominion Museum in Wellington over the weekend with the kids, The diorama is only one part of an incredible tribute to WW1. Anything with an association to Peter Jackson and the Weta Workshops is going to be worth seeing. I went in knowing it would be...

    Officer and OR's Kokarden

This is another I am curious about, the Prussian cockade is 55mm in diameter and is pictured with a "standard" 48-50mm national cockade. Is this just a manufacturing variation or is it for a specific type of helmet? Any ideas?? Regards Andy

    Officer and OR's Kokarden

these two came attached to an OR's M1915 helmet, what type of helmet would they suite? They are essentially standard OR's cockades with the addition of a disc which would have been maybe silver washed when new? Regards Andy

    M1915 Prussian

Far from the worlds best M1915 helmet but I just cant help loving these end of an era helmets , this is a recent acquisition "rescued" from ebay which had the fittings nicely painted silver by a well intention ed previous owner who also took the liberty of giving the shell a coating of shellac...

    M1915 Krugelhelm

Well here is my latest and greatest....Its quite rough and was badly crushed when I picked it up via postal bid in an auction, price was OK, not a gift by any means but not unrealistically high either.I have had it resting on a milliners block to try and bring the shape back to the helmet. I...

    Pickelhaube Reshaping??

I just picked up a M1915 that has been squashed and twisted out of shape,I have bent the rear spine back into shape, the visors need a a bit of restitching, the helmet plate has the orb and leg broken off,the body has a small tear by one chin strap lug...
