Strange, Baden, Mecklenburg,Oldenburg Braunschweig and Thuring all had the same reserve cross and non of them had swords in it. Here is one of mine;

My latest Hessian. Near mint condition, and without a doubt one of my rarest helmets. There is a makers stamp inside which I was able to read with the help of Colonel J’s website, The helmet was made by “L.Schmidt-Rauch DARMSTADT” . Production of the filz helmet stopped around April 1915.
