    German feldmutze

Hello. I just buy a feldgrau feldmutze stamped from the B.A. II 1915 (as well as I can read) and from 23 J.R.. Tha cap have only one cockade from the Saxon duchies. I suppose the cap was first issued to the BA II and after to 23 JR (who was from the VI A.K.) The cockade is probably...

    Husarenmütze

I'm not specialist but for me it's bad, very bad. Probably one of those headgears (with a little leather border) made in Germany. Stitching and cord visible inside the headgear... But it's only my opinion.

    ersatz tschapka

Hello. An important information had been communicated to me by Mr. Larcade: at the end of the war Beckleidungs Amt were specialized in the supply of specific effects for all the army corps. He give me the example of a reversible anorak of skier carrying the marking from the KBAG. There was not...

    Feldgrau Schirmmutzes

There is no shadow or hole between the cockades. It is precisely what makes the scarcity of this cap. The Catholic or Protestant field chaplains carried a silver cross between the cockades. Field rabbis didn't wear a badge between the cockades. Best regards timp_be

    dry cleaning

Why dry cleaning? I bought almost 10 years ago an important lot from more than 100 uniforms pieces (jackets and pants, mainly belgian and french from the years 1890 - 1915) coming from a costumier. They were very dirty, I whash them in my bath-tub with ordinary wash soap and then let them dry...

    Brunswick

Great! A little bit excessive I think. I have an Brunswick helmet but the skull is not secured to the eagle in the same way. It's secure with folded double prongs. So the mine is maybe a copy? What do you think? Can somebody post picture from the rear side of a Brunswick plate? Thanks...

Stamp BAL on 1895 Bayern Pickelhaube

Hello. For me it's not B.A.L. but B.A. I. It's the point after the one who makes it looks like a "L". Bonjour. Le marquage est à mon avis B.A.I., c'est la jonction entre le point et le "I" qui donnent l'apparence d'un "L".

    Landsturm Headgear

I have a Wachstuchmütze from Baden. Even if the cap looks good I have a problem with the cross on which is written "Mit god fur konig und vaterland". Normally it must be "Mit god fur fuerst und vaterland"...? In the book "Militarische kopfbedeckungen der kaiserzeit" from Reiner Herrmann on page...

    Mannschaftshelm des Garde Grenadier

"B.A.G" is "Beckleidungs Amt Garde". The other marking seems to be K.F.H. ? It can be "Koenig Friedrich..." but what means the "H"? There were without mistake 7 garde grenadier regiment called "Koenig Friedrich" but no one with something in the name who begins with "H" (Grenadier Rgt Koenig...

Hello Gus. Happy to see that the bag can become an headgear! But even if I have better knowledge on headgears it don't helps me a lot! As I can see the flap closes with two buttons? On the mine it's closing with straps and buckles it can be an interresting difference... The pictures you add...

    Uniforms and equipment of WWI

For me the bag with two "straps" on the flap is a WW2 model but I can be wrong. I have no documentation about belgian WW2 bags and only a little bit about belgian WW1 bags. I have two bags from the same model, one with the two straps and one without. The two are stamped "Armée belge", I think...
