WTB Field Gray Steel Wappen for a Converted M15 helmet.

One thing I've noticed over the years, is that some of the plates have a bit of spring back to them. That the retaining loops may be 1 or 2 mm closer together than the holes. This results in a better fit to the helmet.

reseda green collar cloth for restoring purposes

I have a question about this uniform. You call it a M1919, but they were used before that year during the war. What was the identification for them during the war?

WTB Field Gray Steel Wappen for a Converted M15 helmet.

That 2" would be about 50mm, that close together is generally Saxon or Bavarian. I'm thinking it would be Bavarian given the holes position. It would appear that at one time it had a different plate on it. I think some one posted a list of the general hole distances by state no to long ago. Is...

Researching the Identity of a Soldier using his Gasmask Carrier

We aren't dealing with an"official" marking, but something a soldier did himself to ID his equipment. As I don't know of there being 611 independent batteries within the German army, and the soldier had to make it fit the space.

    Why FR

I knew that it stood for Fredericus Rex I just didn't understand why since the Kaiser's name was William? Wasn't Friedrich I - King of Prussia, Alt Fritz's father?

    Why FR

I was recently asked a question about my helmets that in the past 65 years I've never been asked nor even thought about. The question was,"Why is there a FR on the helmet plate?". The monarch was Willy, shouldn't it had been a WR on the plate? Britain has always changed the monogram when the...
