    Lingekopf battlefield and museum

The first German line. White crosses mark where the remains of French solders were found. Mostly in the seventies. A lot of steel plates from which the Germans could peek into no mans land and from where they could take a shot. I don't know how they are called but I got one myself somewhere in...

    Lingekopf battlefield and museum

I forgot to make pictures inside the museum (I was too captivated) except for this intruiging one of pieces of wood with bullets still inside. It's very nice with diorama's with full dressed manneq8uins, weapons and lots of artefacten found on the battlefield. There were quite a lot of...

    Lingekopf battlefield and museum

I went on a short holiday to Alsace/Elsass this week and could convince my girlfriend to make a few short stops to WW1-sites. One that I didn't really know (except for the name) was the Lingekopf in the Vosges mountains. Very close to the pre-1918 border between France and Germany. This was...

Chicago Military Show August 2nd @ Countryside

That's indeed a great table with helmets you got there. It baffles me not a single person took an interest in them.

    GM17 display

Very nice thread. Some great displays guys. I've never owned a German gas mask because I find them a bit expensive for what they are, but a gasmask with a Stahlhelm does look very bad-ass I must say!

    Chinstrap inspection

Nice to see so many joining in on the conversation. I appreciatie every opinion. :) The other steel helmets I have all have grey steel fittings and, more over, the wear matches with that of the shell and liner. The helmet this came from has a liner in a pretty rough condition and the chinstrap...

    Chinstrap inspection

Hi guys (and girls), This chinstrap was on a Stahlhelm i bought a while ago. I'm posting it here to get some opinions just to be 100% sure. It's not stiff or dry at all.

    .

This collection is really insane. You've managed to find a top quality piece of every state and model. Without going in every possible variation of course. That you did this in only 10 years apparantly is a great accomplishment!

Bavarian enlisted Shako with Neusilber trim. Hard to find example!

If you really want to play on the safe side, pickikg it up in person is still the best. But of course not possible (or very time consument and expensive) if the seller lives in another country or across the ocean. I've had one case where a parcel was missign but turner up after a week and one...

That M18 Ohrenausschnitt is outstanding. The pictures really capture the great color and patina. Superb!

Rarest to most common German Stahlhelms of WW1

Here pictures from the inside of the helmet. It's definitely a German one. I took another look on the markings and they're all on the steel part of the liner. There's nothing marked in the shell itself where it should be, but this would also be a helmet from F.C. Bellinger none the less.

    Named M16

This one just came in. I'm sure some will recognize it from the sale section of the forum. I'm really pleased with it. The helmet looks great in person (if you can say that of a helmet, haha) with nice green paint present. Liner is in great condition. Pads all nicely filled like it should be...
