    Die Löwen von Wittelsbach

Thank you very much for posting this helmet. The Bavarian Bürgerwehr is unfortunately underestimated. As far as I remember this is the first post referring to these units. I’d like to share my helmet which is an officer of the cavalry. I bought it in 1988 from Kube in his former shop in Munich...

    1st Foot Garde Regiment Mitre

A very good question! According to a catalog from 1913 of Deutscher Offiziersverein the price for the KAGGR mitre was 120,- Mark, which would equal roughly 8.000 Euro according to an online converter. A lot of money. Best wishes, GardeUlan

    Curious helmet

Interesting! For me it looks like someone put the old HR 17 banner before 1873 with „PENINSULA, SICILIEN, WATERLOO“ on a Prussian M 1842 helmet for enlisted soldiers of a so called old regiment, Grenadiers, with the FWR monogram...

    Weird tip Schleswig-Holstein officer 1848

Dear Zeb, Dear Clovis 57, Thank you very much for your replys. It‘s not easy when it comes to these old models especially when it concerns the little German states. Sometimes you can find some references in books, but often with limited information. As Clovis 57 rightly said no A.K.O. 😟...

    Weird tip Schleswig-Holstein officer 1848

Please forgive me to be drop in here again. It would be great to have a reference for that. Did the Holstein army really take over the Prussian model? The Holstein officer helmet you refer to is from Masa’s homepage and it‘s the only Holstein officer helmet with Prussian style officer‘s...

    Weird tip Schleswig-Holstein officer 1848

This one I remember. Ritscher offered it about 15 years ago. It’s now in Japan. But is Ritscher a proper benchmark? https://masas-attic.jugem.jp/?eid=149#gsc.tab=0 Best wishes, GardeUlan
