The paint on that shield and the way it was applied it looks like the master Claude Monet or at least one of his students did it.
It gives off a very impressionistic style and feel. ;)(y)
Maybe it started life as something like my M15 for the 2. Hannoversches Dragoon Rgt Nr 16.
