So I bought this the other day as you do ( I added the chinstrap) didn’t need a grey plate but I noticed all the markings and decided it was a pre war shako with a heavily patinated Brass plate. And it was. However I’m not up on my markings. Any ideas? Thanks. Rob

Nothing special , always wanted a complete French cavalry helmet but am happy with the mounted Gendarme version , just need a larger tricolor plume. And a Kugel slightly battered but untouched and to Anne Frank’s dads unit. Rob

Bought this the other day, it was squashed so I have put a hat reshaped in doesnt show any Ill effects. No regimental markings and as often happens the wrong cockades great big Currasier helmet cockades instead . Rob

One owner and unused!

Here’s one you don’t see too often. I can’t remember the proper term so I just call it my plastic one. It does have an embossed stamp in the leather but I can’t make it out . Rob

Bought these the other day. The spike top can be unscrewed no extra holes rear peak needs resewing there’s pencil markings on the rear peak but I can’t currently make them out still has one cockade which is nice . The record has such classics as Kaiser Jager March and Von Der Tann. Rob
