    Hannover Uhlans 1830

I recently got several Knottel prints, mostly of early Hannoverian units. This one was interesting because I have a document for a member of one of these Regiments in this period

    Hannover Riding School(?)

The back of this has a note stating "1891 Hannover". It has quite the mix of Cavalry units. At least one from each Cavalry type(except JzP), many different Regiments. I'm guessing these are attendees of the Hannover Riding School. It's fun to try to guess which Regiments. My first cut: GKR...

Kurassier Officer's Pallasch with Salm family Coat of Arms. Help with possible Ids.

This is an Officer's version of the M54 Kurassier Pallasch. It was made by Damaschke. The blade is massive, about 37.75 inches long (about 96 cm) which would suggest it was made before 1896 when the Kurassier Pallasch blades were shortened. The really interesting thing is the Pommel Nut...

    Fancy IOD 89

This was made by WKC for the Deutsche Offizier Verein (DOV) who would resell or present swords. Though it is not marked as such, it has a nice Damascus blade. The guard and pommel are very detailed. Even the reverse side of the Eagle and the inside of the knuckle bow are worked. The...

26th Dragoon Regt Lt...Help with name

I can't quite make out the name. Maybe someone with a better eye for cursive can make out the writing on the front and back.

Model 1881 Saxon Artillery Officers Sword

A real nice example. The reseller was in Leipzig so maybe belonged to an officer of the 77th Field Artillery Regiment. The Royal cypher and state arms on the blade are pretty typical of the Saxon swords. Made by Clemens and Jung

Baden style gift saber - Help with officer ID

This is a very fancy saber with a Baden infantry officer style guard and an impressive Damascus steel blade. The sword was a gift from one officer to another, the names are engrave on the blade. Honsell s/l Dänzer. I'm assuming they were wealthy officers in one of the Baden regiments (maybe...

    1842 Prussian Reserve/Landwehr Infantry Helmet - NCO?

It appears to have an officer's cockade so I'm guessing a senior NCO. I like the look of these old-timers.

Royal Hannover Infantry Officers saber. King George V

This is a really nice example with a Damascus steel blade. From the time of George V whose reign ended in 1866 after the battle of Langensalza. It has the GRV cypher on the guard and on both sides of the blade.

Wurttemberg Cavalry Officer's saber and DR26

Unfortunately, the saber is missing the wire wraps on the grip, but it is a nice example. The state coat of arms on the guard is impressive. The saber was sold by a vendor in Stuttgart, so it could have been carried by a member of DR26.
