There is no makers mark but it has good quality etching.

I can't quite make out the name. Maybe someone with a better eye for cursive can make out the writing on the front and back.

It appears to have an officer's cockade so I'm guessing a senior NCO. I like the look of these old-timers.

This is a really nice example with a Damascus steel blade. From the time of George V whose reign ended in 1866 after the battle of Langensalza. It has the GRV cypher on the guard and on both sides of the blade.

Unfortunately, the saber is missing the wire wraps on the grip, but it is a nice example. The state coat of arms on the guard is impressive. The saber was sold by a vendor in Stuttgart, so it could have been carried by a member of DR26.
