Prussian kurassier regiments were armed with 2 types of pallasches prior to the introduction of the model 1854. The 1817 French form and the 1819 Russian form. This is one of the former. Made by Schnitzler and Kirschbaum (S&K) and accepted into service in 1856, it was issued to the Leib Kurassier Regiment. The acceptance stamps match on the blade and guard. The scabbard is marked to the 4th Kurassier Regt so it was probably made for a Russian form pallasch. The 1st Kurassier is a regiment I collect so I am thrilled to get an issued weapon marked to them. IMG_6453.jpeg

Superb !!
In fact, this Pallasch model is copied from the 1801 French Cuirassier "Latte" model, which would be slightly modified two or three times thereafter. The 1816 version had the blade point in the middle.
