    Max Show

We arrived at 4 pm today. The route we took avoided most of the interstates so we had great scenery and interesting small towns to go through. I brought some pieces as well and will be with James. Looking forward to meeting with our members! Yes we will be taking photos. 👍

    Max Show

Looking forward to the Show and meeting up with some of our members! It has been years since I have been there as my attention was centered on the SOS. The MAX was the first large US show that I went to as a young collector. It used to be in Pittsburg which is a 7 hr. drive from where I live...

Hessen Feld Artillery 61 Officer Uberzug

Well, that explains the configuration of the helmet and why the lion crown on the wappen is not pierced.

Hessen Feld Artillery 61 Officer Uberzug

Perhaps....but the construction....loops etc were certainly professionally done. Thread colour matches. I decided to post some additional photos with the cover in place on my FAR 61 helmet. The piece is totally officer except for the lion's crown not being pierced. Hessen officer kokarde. The...

Hessen Feld Artillery 61 Officer Uberzug

I have owned this piece since the 1980's and have posted photos here several times. Unfortunately, no one has been able to identify/explain its unique characteristics. Hopefully, one of our newer members has seen something like this before. This is a red number pre war officer private purchase...

Recently found Tombac Kurassier e.m. helmet C.E. Junker 1914 missing wappen

Congrats Alan! You are truly the Indiana Jones of the Pickelhaube World. The number of “finds” you come up with is awesome. Unusual to see a 58.5 size with a complete interior in contrast to the heavily tarnished exterior. Personally, I would clean it and restore it to its original glory.

    M15 helmet with cover

Years ago I owned a brass spike base with neck. The top was completely filled in with solder. The spike cone was removed and the open top had been filled in. It had been skillfully done. The solder was domed, smooth and filled in the entire space.
