Another thing: the magnetism of the fittings should be checked... The plates look grey-iron to me, but the tip is not the M15 retractable model. Hi Clovis, sorry about the misunderstanding. My only questions were what to replace wire or nails holding the front plate on. I know originally...

    b. loree, Could you buy repro leather wedges or do people just make their own? Regarding the front plate on the helmet I posted here, should the front plate be magnetic or non magnetic? Thanks for your replies. Rocky

Clovis, what style Pickelhaube is the one you posted? Peter, nice Pickelhaube. Also it was mentioned that the front plate should be magnetic. Correct? When the leather strip holding the front plate on is missing or it has a piece of wire or a nail holding it on, etc. do they have something...

    Pickelhaube Questions

Thanks for all the information. I am not going to buy it. I was just wondering if the chin strap & any one of those cockades would go with the other one I had posted. That is the late war canvas one on this same section. Rocky

    Pickelhaube Questions

Hi, what would you say that this helmet is worth? About $350-$400? What cockade that I have posted would go on this helmet because there are 2 different ones on this helmet. Any help again would be appreciated. Thanks, Rocky

    Pickelhaube Opinion

Thanks for all the help. I am going to stop by next week to see if I can get it. What kind of cockades would go with this helmet? I know the red, white & black but how about on the other side? Would they & also a chin strap be hard to find? Thanks, Rocky

The black disc should be on the inside and by bending the tabs & placing it on the tabs & bending them back? Is that correct? Again, thanks for all the information. Rocky

As of now the guy that has the helmet does not want to sell it. What would be a reasonable offer when he does want to sell it? Thanks, Rocky

    Pickelhaube Opinion

Hi, I know a guy that has this Pickelhaube & I was looking at it & took a few pics. I believe it is one of those late war ones. It is missing the chin strap & cockades and someone put an extra frontal plate on it. It is also unit marked. Any Opinions? Thanks, Rocky

    Pickelhaube Questions

Thanks for the help. You guys definitely know what you are talking about. Did you also notice that one of the attachment pins for the Eagle was resoldered? Excuse me for not understanding a few things. 1. The rear visor was changed to a Police visor? 2. If it was a Police helmet originally...

Thank You for the help. I am posting some pics without the Eagle on the helmet. So if the rear visor is Police, so what did the helmet start out as? Thanks again, rocky

    Pickelhaube Questions

Thanks for the reply. There is a hole that you can see on the pic in img 0020 where it looks like there was something that was screwed in there at one time but this one looks like it is just hooked to the rim. Could it be transitional where they did away with that? It has two of the same...
