Yes Philippe, that could be so... Although the marking is handwritten and not stamped. Another option would be that it is an early marking, scratched and when resused in 1914 with the handwritten name and number on the other side are from the new wearer... 🤔

Philippe; helmet indeed once wore a cover. The denting in the leather from the hooks is clearly visible on the inside rear visor...

Thank you Francis Hahaha, I promise... No more raids and sniffing :-" These is a nice ghosting of the plate on the helmet. No extra holes. The holes for the plate rings also have messing rings around them, and the plate is attached with the original leather strips. @Pickelhauben; Thank you...

Actually, the red hair seems to be real hair. I just took one out and held a lighter to it... It burns like real hair and smells like burnt real hair.

There is a stamp on the rear visor but alas is not readable anymore... The cockades are EM/ NCO, as is the chinstrap. The top for the parade busch and the busch and funnel are also EM/ NCO. I will make some extra photos and will try to upload them... Thanks for your replies so far :thumb up:
