    Maschinengewehr-Scharfschützen-Abteilungen

I'm unsure of the general interest in Freikorps related items here on the forum; however, here is a nice photo of a Freikorps member also sporting the badge, Halle 1919

The "Worst" Helmet of the First World War

As well, I'm looking for advice on the rust currently on the helmet. Specifically, near the capbadge. As it stands, the rust situation doesn't seem to jeopardize the integrity of the helmet. This is why I haven't touched it all. Is it better to leave it as is (as is the current plan) or is it...

For anyone interested in how the capbadge is affixed on the inside

The "Worst" Helmet of the First World War

Although not a pickelhaube, here is one of my favourite Tins from the First World War. A British Private Purchase M16 based on the Mk 1 Steel helmet design. Many know these helmets to be the Portuguese M16 or a derivative thereof, but before they entered Portuguese hands likely as a stop-gap...

    My Ersatz collection

Welcome to the forum and thank you for sharing such an amazing Ersatz collection! Like you, I too really enjoy the Ersatz pickelhauben. Something about the variety and the scramble to find resources to make them for the war effort just captivates my attention. I find myself continuously...

A Visit Down to Kaiser's Bunker

Over the Summer, I had the great pleasure in getting to visit a friend who owns a world-class Imperial German collection. This extensive collection has obviously required a great deal of time and effort to assemble. The collection is none other than Kaiser's Bunker. To paint a picture, when...

    M16 with an Uberzug

Personally, the "BA X1" Depot mark seems off to me. Should the 1 not be a Roman numeral like the 10 as in BA XI? That is what I've commonly seen with these Depot marks. From the research I've done, it seems no two examples I've come across on the internet are the same. If anyone has an example...
