1. Garde Regt zu FuB with Semper Talis

That’s a beauty

I imagine the current owner is happy happy happy
The current owner is me
From a special Kube auction
I think it was # 50 ?
He held back special items for that auction
purchased by Bob Schiller
he passed away at a young age
I bought it from his widow.

Outstanding Helmet, you are buying up all the great helmets…. You must have a wonderful display area to accompany your vast storage space.
I have one room with shelves all on wheels. So they are wheeled in and out when I need to get to a certain shelf.

Sigh I am indeed out of space so I also rent a room in the storage hub to house the steel helmets and the prussian brass and grey metal em.

IMO this is one of the "Crown Jewels " of helmets
the regiment is very VIP all 6 of the Kaiser's sons served in this regiment
stars are all silver
and please note your old question about the spike of a Prussian general
note how the base of the silver spike curls under and don't cover down
the General's does the same thing
You did SUPER !
expensive , but worth it
Here are my examples

Thanks Steve.
It's the first time I have that spike so I played with it for a long while. I am gg to play with that helmet over the weekend.

Steve, does this rare EM helmet show some regimental stamps?

I am not sure
I have owned this helmet for many years
It came from an old collection in Chicago
Back then , 1970 there were 2 advanced collectors in Chicago
one passed away young of cancer
the other had to sell his helmets because of his divorce
Another collector beat me to it
to finally add it to my collection
I had to trade a Bavarian Generals helmet
and I got this helmet and $ 500 cash
I later replaced the Generals helmet
but I have not seen another one of this helmet
so it has been on my shelf for many years

I have room for storage and it includes maintenance and upkeep. And, free boarding when visiting your items!
I’m sure my wife is okay with this, I’m sure of it…. No need to ask

This piece is much rarer than a general’s helmet as you know Steve. You did well, 👍
Brian
For example; back in those days ( 1970 ) I bought a Hessian FAR 25 officers helmet
with the star front plate for $250. I like Prussian and I like the 1 G R zu Fuss
How could I go wrong ?
