115 LIR Hessois: a "Kammer" helmet facing an "Eigentum"

Hello,
Here is what differentiates a regulation "Kammer" helmet of the 115 Leib-Infanterie-Régiment from a fancy "Eigentum":
The difference in the oxidation of the fittings is due to the various metals and treatment used: silver nickel silver, nickel plated brass, etc.

Excellent post Clovis!
I only have a Hessian M15 in my collection, but the differences between the 2 Leib-infanterie 115 helmets is very clear.
Thanks for posting! I learn something everyday here. (y)

Thank you gentlemen,

We know that Hessian helmets are atypical to Prussian standards. Thus, among officers, no star, no Perlring. This has the consequence that a fancy "Troop", volunteer, or "NCO" helmet can only differ from an officer's Extra-Helm by the star of Louis.

In fact, the Eigentum is very close to an Officer's Extra-Helm,(for 115LIR) apart from Ludwig der Löwe's star, which has a black enamelled background. The M71 officer's scale chinstrap (rosettes with folding legs) and the rear vertical ring with visible rivets as in the Dragons are characteristic.
The point is also more slender. The lion's crown is openwork as in the officers.

Below, an officer's star, this helmet has stars, therefore in use after April 1915.:)

Excellent post Clovis, thank you. The differences between issued JR 115 and Eigentum are easy to see.
