Ed, your helmet is showing all the matching particularities of a pre-war fabrication helmet :bravo:
On most of the JR115 helmets that I have seen (no matter pre-war or war fabrication), the star was most of the time fixed much higher on the lion, so one can see clearly the lions feet. On yours and as on mine, the star is a little bit lower, so the feet are almost hidden.
Ed, does the star on your helmet also have the typical "fabrication mistake" always seen on JR115 pre-war wappen: the very small line over the word "GOTT" ? (défaut de matrice donnant l´impression d´une demi-lune au dessus du mot "GOTT").

Excellent....Congratulations on a superbe helme. I love those markings, may we please use that pic for our forum list? Perhaps send it to Joe who is the keeper of the list? I do not believe we have one for JR115. The only markings on my 115 OR is the korps..XVIII

Yes certainly, glad to help. :)

Thank you Ed,

We have a 115 but nothing like yours. You have all those additional marks which I have not yet deciphered – thanks again.

You’re welcome Joe.

Thanks Ed and Joe. I see 3B ( 3rd Battalion) 1907, and I......1st Company? Anyway, fantastic markings and once again fellow collectors there is no where else on the planet where you can access Regt markings plus manufacturers stamps.

I think that you are right Joe....there would have been a C if it were company. Exceptional markings though and ofcourse pre war, put on when the Germans did not worry about unit identification. I have seen many war time OR helmes with attempts at removing unit ID on the rear visor. This is reflected in the uberzug numbers as well .......first red numbers, then green, then no numbers at all.

I think our friend forgot to say that the photo comes from eBay Germany and I just win the auction... :-k

As I love the work of Joe, I authorize the publication of the photo :bravo:
