From the other end of the spectrum - the elegant Frieherr von Rotenhan of Königs-Ulanen-Regiment Nr.13. 1908.

The cap is officer quality but the uniform appears to be an Uffz. OYV?

Everything he is wearing is private purchase. Officer Kokarden on his Schirmmütze, officer Portepee, but his rank denotes only as Unteroffizier (no collar buttons). So he appears to have been in that dreaded position that confuses all collectors: Fähnrich.
